Manama, Jan. 25 (BNA): Bridging gaps and paving the way for bilateral or multi-lateral political and economic cooperation would reflect positively on everyone, consolidate security and stability and effectively counter attempts to undermine them, he said.
HRH the Prime Minister stressed that everyone is expecting the best from the coming policies regarding international cooperation and coordination within a framework of respect on which international relations should be based, and in a way that would serve the development process and strengthen security and stability which have witnessed a decline in the last period in an unprecedented way in the region.
The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving, at his Palace in Riffa, the Philippine Foreign Minister, Perfecto Yasay Jr, who conveyed to him greetings from the Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte, as well as his wishes of abundant health to him, and of further progress and prosperity to the kingdom.
HRH Premier highlighted the solid relations between the two friendly countries, and the steady progress of bilateral cooperation in various fields, valuing highly the Philippine President’s keen interest to support bilateral ties and broaden joint cooperation to achieve common interests.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of exchanged visits between senior officials in the two countries in pushing joint economic, investment and trade cooperation forward, and in strengthening their coordination vis-à-vis issues of common interest.
He also hailed the role played by the expatriate Philippine community in the kingdom in various fields.
HRH the Prime Minister and the Philippine Foreign Minister the latest regional and global developments, expressing hope that the world today would show more understanding of the outcomes of some policies that resulted in sabotage, destruction and displacement of people, and take the initiative to rectify the process towards more stability and development.
The Philippine Foreign Minister expressed his country’s great appreciation to HRH Premier for his keenness to bolster and broaden bilateral cooperation.
He also voiced his country’s pride in the Government of Bahrain’s interest in and support of the expatriate Philippine community in the kingdom.
